John Brooker
I have just discovered my first year as a holidaymaker at Southdean was 1961 and I was there again in 1962 and 1963 before returning as a member of staff in 1966 and 1967.
I remember being in the Cinderella panto.
Johnny Sutton's party trick was to pull the tablecloth out from under the crockery. On the last panto of the season I pinned the cloth to the table and he pulled the whole lot over. I also took over under the ghost sheet and whispered stuff to him which had him in fits.
I did a stand up act and a George Formby act in the Music Hall/Variety show and I had my own 15 minute cabaret one evening a week singing with a waitress called Trudie.
